Cross Lightings The cross on the Grantham United Methodist Church will be lit in memory of Kenneth O. Barton by Joyce Barton and family, and in memory of Alfred Holmes, Mr. and Mrs. Joshua Dunbar and Mr. and Mrs. John Holmes by Joey Holmes. The cross on the Grantham United Methodist Church will be lit on Dec. 4 in memory of Joshua Dunbar and on Dec. 9 in memory of John Holmes, both by Joey Holmes and family.
Amelia Reese Gallagher was born on Sept. 10 to Melissa and Joseph Gallagher. She weighed 7 pounds, 8 ounces. Her parents and big sister, Abigail, are extremely proud.
Book fair Wednesday The Annual Scholastic Book Fair sponsored by Beta Sigma Phi will be held in the Grantham Village School gym from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday. Family night is 5:30 to 8:00 p.m. with activities for the kids. All are welcome. Great gifts for children or grandchildren.
Make your lifestyle healthier Join Kathy Pomer and Anne Goucher at 6 p.m. Dec. 4 for a healthy seminar and dinner at Bistro Nouveau. This is the second healthy seminar hosted by Kathy Pomer, healthy lifestyle coach and Nutrametrix consultant. Featured speaker Anne Goucher has a BS in exercise science as well as several fitness certifications, including strength training and conditioning, personal training, group exercise, yoga, kickboxing, spinning, senior fitness, and pre- and post-natal exercise. Both women live in Grantham. Discussion will include the importance of balance, agility, flexibility, strength and cardiovascular conditioning, and how to make it a fun part of your everyday life. A healthy 3-course dinner will be served. $20 per person. Reservations at 863-8000.
'Our Town' activities Grantham's Our Town sponsors the following events: Breakfast with Santa on Dec. 13 from 8:30 to10 a.m. at Grantham Town Hall. Cost is $4 for ages 12 and older; under 11 free with non-perishable food donation. Bring your own camera to take photos. Candy canes and a gift for each child. New Year's Eve Family Dance Party on Dec. 31 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Grantham Town Hall. Admission is $5 per person with a maximum of $20 per family. More details to come as the date gets closer.

Sunapee Harbor Looney Lunge Come take a dip in Lake Sunapee at 2 p.m. Saturday in Sunapee Harbor. It will be an experience you will never forget! Water safety personal will be on hand with gear to get your body temp back to normal. No cost, just fun! Lungers under 18 years old will need parental permission form filled out. Come dressed up like the Grinch and get a special prize. This event is sponsored by the Sunapee Recreation Department and is part of the Magical Christmas Celebration being held from 1 to 6 p.m. in Sunapee Harbor. Referee clinic Each year, Recreation Director Marsha Googins is in need of referees for the Gold Hawks home basketball games. This year, you can learn how (or refresh your knowledge) by attending a free referee clinic beginning at 2 p.m. Sunday in the GVS gym. Please RSVP to Googins at 863-6124 if you wish to attend. This is a great opportunity to learn and get some exercise while giving some time to a great children's program.
Community Potluck Everyone is welcome to the monthly community pot luck, which begins at 6 p.m. Saturday in the downstairs of the Grantham United Methodist Church. Bring a dish to share.
Eastmanaries welcome holidays The Eastmanaires will be holding their Holiday Concert at The Center at Eastman on Sunday at 4 p.m. and on Monday at 7:30 p.m. Donations will be accepted at the door.
