Walk Grantham Four Corners

Dick Hocker and Renee Gustafson will lead a Grantham Historical Society walk on Sept. 20 to Grantham Four Corners. The carpool will leave the historical society building on Dunbar Hill Road at 10 a.m. Grantham Four Corners is an early settlement. The walk will include views of cellar holes, a school site and a cemetery. Bring a lunch to eat at Lily Pond, a beautiful and very remote site.  The walk is approximately two miles and should be fun and very informative.  Ken Story from the G.H.S. and Hocker, chair of Grantham Conservation Commission, will supply a plethora of interesting facts. Contact Renee Gustafson at 863-7487 for more information.

Come tour Costa Rica

Elaine and Frank Lasher will offer a photographic trip through Costa Rica beginning at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 24 in the Draper Room at The Center at Eastman. Free and open to the public.

Build a Scarecrow

It’s time to build scarecrows beginning at 3:15 p.m. Sept. 25 at the new town park on Shedd Road. Our Town provides all the supplies for these scarecrows that will be used to decorate Grantham along Route 10. Children must be accompanied by an adult… no drop offs, please. It will be rescheduled in the event of inclement weather.  For more information, contact the Grantham Activities Department at 863-9143 or field83@comcast.net.

Stump! Trivia at Bistro Nouveau

Stump! Trivia made an auspicious start at Bistro Nouveau on Sept. 11, when 10 teams competed for points and prizes. There’s plenty of room for new (or reconstituted) teams as Stump! Trivia returns to the Bistro at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 25. Stump! Trivia is a two-hour game in which teams of two to six people test their skills at an assortment of trivia questions ranging from anatomy to literature, movies to history. Call 863-8000 to reserve your table. And a quick thanks to Kathy Pomer, the “warm up band” for Thursday’s event. This impromptu comedienne got things off to a fun start.

Plan ahead
