What a tiring and
depressing week in Concord. In a long day, the NH House of
Representatives passed the garbage can tax bill on Wednesday.
Fortunately, the Senate promptly rejected it. Heaven only knows what
will come back at us. Thursday we embraced the
national health care legislation. Get out your wallets. It will be great
for almost everyone for about two years after its finally implemented.
Then it will enter the death spiral as its long term effects manifest. And, the 4th gambling bill
of the year... still rushed and not top notch. Best of the year, though.
It will let my constituents gamble and bring in some much-needed
dollars. It seems to have enough oversight. I'll read it Tuesday and
make my decision. Remember all of this in
November. |
