Croydon Historical Society

The Croydon Historical Society held their annual Christmas party on Saturday, Dec. 11 at the home of John and Orma Thompson. There was a lot of food, and of course a Yankee Swap. The Thompsons decorated the Christmas tree with red and white poinsettias.

Prior to the Christmas Party the society had their business meeting and set dates for their meeting and upcoming events.

This year's Christmas ornament is still available. The hand painted ball depicts the Kowlaski's house when it was the Croydon Post Office. Cost of the ornament is $10, which includes a box suitable for mailing. If interested call Bap Kresse at 863-1449 or buy one at the town clerk's office during office hours.

Santa Visits Croydon

Approximately 25 children came to visit Santa at the Croydon Fire Department on Saturday Dec. 10. As always, Santa had gifts for all the children and he spent a lot of personal time with each.

In addition to Santa, the Croydon PTO was on hand with craft projects for the children. They were making bookmarkers and tree ornaments. The Ladies Auxiliary supplied all types of goodies for the children to enjoy.

If you haven't taken a chance on the "World's Largest Christmas Stocking", don't worry tickets are on sale until Thursday prior to the drawing. Chances are $2 each or three for $5. The drawing is slated for during Thursday's bingo. If you want to purchase chances call Sandy Beard at 863-4732.

Area Agreement Committee
