October
is Adopt a Shelter Dog Month As most of you know
I volunteer for Green Mountain Pug Rescue, but I love all dogs. If you
are thinking of adding a dog to your family, please consider adopting a
dog from a shelter. I have adopted several older pugs and older dogs
bond with families as well as puppies. We recently adopted a pug that
spent 8 years in a cage at a puppy mill. Her paws are deformed from
walking on the floor of a wire cage. She shook for two days when we
brought her home, and did not know how to go up or down the steps or go
through a door. She also did not know how to eat out of a bowl. That was
in July. Today she is running through the doors, up the steps and waits
faithfully every evening for my husband to come home.
