Mystery lady models "Hysterical Hat."

The Hysterical Hat is back! Yes, gather up your funky decorations and start designing your hat now for the contest. It is a great way to enjoy the festivities of Croydon Community Day on Saturday, Sept. 19 from 2 pm. to Fireworks. The contest has not been present for the past several years, but now it is back on the event schedule by popular demand.

In addition to the Hysterical Hat Contest there are other events for the day, they include: Bicycle Rodeo, Face Painting, Watermelon Eating Contest, Children's Crafts, Fireworks, as well as use of the facility for kayaking, sailing, and of course the infamous The Flat vs. The Village tug of war. Prediction: Croydon Flat will win this year!

Of course, there is the Chicken B-B-Q prepared by the Croydon Volunteer Department, followed by an Ice Cream Social sponsored by the Croydon Community Church. Rumor has it that the Croydon Singers will be on hand for entertainment.

Kim McKinney, Dena Scalfani, Sue Swan, and Andrea Drew started Croydon Community Day several years ago. A call is out, this year for help on Friday with preparations and clean up crew for Sunday following the event. Anyone wishing to help can contact Kim McKinney (603) 863-9340, Dena Scalfani, Andrea Drew (603) 863-3149, or Sue Swan (603) 863-2060.
