Updated Feb. 11 - The Historical Society Meeting
scheduled for Feb. 13 is now going to be on Saturday, Feb. 20. The Croydon Historical
Society's business meeting is on Saturday, February 20 at 10:30 p.m. in
the Croydon Town Hall. The activities meeting will meet on another
date, not yet determined.
This year's Town Meeting
Book is dedicated to Bert Smith, who passed away this past September. I
couldn't think of a more fitting tribute, Bert always made his presence
and opinions known at all of the Town Meetings. He is missed. The Annual Budget Hearing
for The Town of Croydon is Tuesday, Feb. 9 at 7:30 pm in the Selectmen’s
Office. Speaking of Town Meeting,
registration is closed for the Town and School Officers. If you want to
run for a office you will need to run as a write-in candidate. Voting is
on Tuesday, March 9, 2010 from 8:00 am - 7:00 pm in the Croydon Town
Hall for officers. The Annual Town and School Meetings are on Saturday,

all your service. It is not one of the easiest offices. As you can see I am
running for a position on the school board, because of this I will not
report on the meetings. However I will give dates and times for meetings
and the agenda when available. Minutes from the meeting should be

Please note there is a Budget Hearing scheduled for Feb. 20, 2010 although I do not have the time as of this writing. Look for more information next week. Police Chief Richard Lee reports he is working on a 429-page manual that spells out police policy and procedures that will be available for Croydon residents to view. The only portion that is not available to the public is a section on tactical procedures.

The Croydon Historical Society’s business meeting is on Saturday, February 13 at 10:30 p.m. in the Croydon Town Hall. The activities committee is meeting at 9:30 to get the years events in order. The New Hampshire Fish and Game is seeking volunteers for Hunter Education Instructors. The course emphasizes core hunting ethics, safe practices, responsible gun handling, and knowledge of firearms and ammunition. On The Cheap 94th Newport Winter Carnival Scavenger Hunt on Wednesday, Feb 10, 2010. The Hunt will start at the Gazebo on the Newport Common at 6:00 pm; Register your team( 4 people) at Newport Rec on Belnap Avenue, Newport. You will need a digital camera. The event is sponsored by the Newport Recreation Department and Prizes will be awarded.
