Tom
Howard State Representative
I was
fortunate to have a telephone interview with Tom Howard Croydon
Resident and State Representative (R), while he was visiting Bert
Smith. Howard says he is enjoying serving his constituents and would
like folks to know he is here to help them and encourages people to call
him at 863-8434. Currently he is helping a resident of Newport, who
married a woman in Vietnam, get a Visa so the couple can reunite.
Currently Howard is serving on the Resources and Development Committee.
Representative Howard says he is still on the learning curve, but for
the first time in his adult life, he feels he is making a difference. .
Representative Howard says that the proposed Safari Bill by
Representative Renny Cushing (D) of Hampton has not come to the house
yet, and he has not read it. However, Howard is against the Safari
fee and says he will vote against it. The Safari Bill calls for
private hunting grounds to pay $1.00 an acre for private hunting grounds
over 500 acres. The only facility this would affect would be Corbin
Park.
