Guess what 2013 is? It is Croydon’s 250th Birthday. It may seem like a long way off, but the Croydon Historical Society is starting to think about its celebration. Newport will be celebrating their 250th Birthday before Croydon. Should we join with them in dual celebrations, or do something on our own? Input from the public is always welcome, so feel free to attend a historical society meeting and voice your opinion. Better yet, become a member and partake in all the fun and activities. The next business meeting of the Croydon Historical Society is on Saturday, Feb. 13 at 10:30 a.m. in the Croydon Town Hall. This year the historical society is changing its meeting format. It is as follows; Feb. 13 business meeting, March 13 activity/program meeting, April 10 business meeting, and May Annual Meeting and installation of officers. A big thanks to Carol Robinson for hosting the historical society’s annual Christmas party.
Today's Special Election Do not forget to vote in the Special Election for State Representative for Sullivan Co. district 2. Croydon's own Steve Cunningham is the Republican candidate on the ballot.
